With a third row of seats available and ample storage space to be found, this is an adventurer that will adapt to your needs as and when required, all without compromising comfort.
Hybrid Performance
A 2.5-litre petrol hybrid engine has been developed to provide you with everything you need to overcome the challenges of everyday life and take on any adventure with aplomb. Efficient but powerful, and with a number of driving modes that adapt to the surroundings, the new Highlander is a hybrid of class and refinement.
Technology and safety The exciting new Toyota Highlander is a premium SUV that is all about detail. From its head-turning exterior design to the delicate craftsmanship throughout the cabin, every inch of this bold vehicle has been developed to make a big difference. This extends to the range of technology and safety measures to be found throughout, with the Highlander packed with features that will enhance the driving experience on offer. Take, for example, the eight-inch colour touchscreen. This intuitive system connects to your smartphone via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, enabling you to take control of selected apps, stream media, and manage your calls. Combined with the wireless phone charging system and the MyT app, you will have a level of engagement that gets the most out of the vehicle at all times. What’s more, you can even take advantage of a Head-Up Display that safely presents key motoring information directly in your line of vision so that you don’t have to take your eyes off the road. This is just the start of the safety credentials of the new Toyota Highlander. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 offers the utmost in protective measures, with a Pre-Collision System enhanced with Emergency Steering Assist, Lane Trace Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, and a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor among those features available in the vehicle.
Power and efficiency With its seven-seat capacity and ample frame, the new Highlander requires significant power in order to take on the rigours of daily life. But that doesn’t mean performance should result in high emissions and expensive refuelling. With the new hybrid engine makeup of the vehicle, you will be able to benefit from cleaner SUV motoring and improved fuel consumption, all without experiencing a compromise in performance. The 2.5-litre petrol engine combines with an electric motor with 134kW output for plenty of punch whether on-road or off. In fact, the overall power output of 248hp gives more than enough kick for acceleration to 62mph in an impressive 8.3 seconds. With fuel economy of up to 39.7mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 159g/km, you can also look forward to plenty of efficiency every time you hop behind the wheel of the model. Also complementing performance in the Highlander is the three driving modes that are available. Simply select from NORMAL, ECO or SPORT in order to experience nuanced motoring depending on you choice, with the responsiveness and agility tailored to you. Plus, the AWD-i system will automatically engage when required, with a rear electric motor helping distribute additional driving force to the rear wheels.
