World Environment Day

Today marks World Environment Day, and we thought we’d take this opportunity to shout about the amazing work that Toyota, Renault, Ford and Lexus are doing to make the world a greener place.

Toyota

With almost every vehicle now a hybrid, Toyota is one of the leading hybrid manufacturers in the UK. From the fun sized Yaris to the rugged RAV4, Toyota is making a pledge to make every vehicle in its range a hybrid or electric vehicle by 2025 and aims to hit annual sales of 5.5 million electric vehicles by 2030.

The most popular Toyota hybrid model is the Prius which was the first mass-produced hybrid vehicle. Originally introduced to the UK market in 2000, the Prius was a pioneer in its field with the first generation Prius named the worlds most successful hybrid vehicle. Now in its fourth generation, the Prius offers a lighter, more compact and more efficient hybrid powertrain. With the Prius Plug-In model reducing CO2 emissions to as little as 28g/km, there's no wonder its a firm favourite among the Toyota customers!

Current models offering the hybrid powertrain are the Yaris, Auris, C-HR, RAV4, Prius, Prius+ and Prius Plug-In. Find out more about the Toyota hybrid range here.

Renault

The Renault ZOE was Europe's best selling Electric Vehicle in 2017, and it's not hard to see why. The ZOE is fitted with a lithium-ion battery meaning great performance at all times. Available with two engines, the R110 engine and Q90 Quick Charge engine , the ZOE can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 65 minutes.

Moving on to the Kangoo Z.E., this is the first commercial vehicle offered by Renault to be run on a completely electric system. Being cheap to fuel and with lower maintenance costs, it's understandable that the Kangoo Z.E. is popular amongst the businesses of today!

Unlike anything else on the road today, the Twizy is an ultra-compact EV seating up to two people, and its fun and dynamic looks push the boundaries of what's expected from an EV.

The Z.E. range iscompletely electric, but don't worry, when you purchase your ZOE, Kangoo Z.E. or Twizy, you will receive a wall box charging facility fitted at your home; and if you're on the move you can take advantage of the many public EV charging facilities.
