The Toyota Sprint Series (TSS) is back for another year, returning for is 10th year of sprinting. Suitable for all levels, the TSS offers a friendly motorsport atmosphere for everyone from complete novices to expert drivers.
If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of Sprinting, the TSS sees drivers competing against the clock on a pre-practised course. To ensure vehicles do not collide drivers start from a standstill at 30 second intervals to complete their timed lap of the course, and in order to be able to partake their vehicle must have been originally manufactured by either Toyota, Lexus, Subaru BRZ or Scion FRS.
The TSS is split into 14 different classes ranging from 1.0-litre to Turbo 4x4, allowing for close competition between competitors. As part of the championship drivers will compete in 6 rounds at courses around the UK, with scores from 5 of those rounds counting towards the championship title for their class.
This year’s series starts at Blyton Park, Outer on Sunday 2nd April with the following rounds on:
Local racing driver Steven Allison is returning to TSS this year to compete for his 2nd title in the Group E-Street Class. After a successful racing season last year, Steven hopes to retain his championship title through competing at 5 out of the 6 rounds.
