As part of Toyota's push to update several new models this year, the Toyota Auris is returning to UK dealerships in a new guise. The far-reaching redesign will add to the model's more premium feel.
Both the hatchback and estate versions of the Auris will relaunch later this summer. They come back with a new look for the headlights, front grille and bumper. The changes bring the Toyota car range more in line visually; increased overhangs also make the Auris feel longer than the previous generation.
Significant changes have been made to the interior. The dashboard has been redesigned with a clean, intuitive arrangement, and the finishes feel smarter and more precise. Hybrid versions also receive a 4.2-inch touchscreen for infotainment.
The specification levels have yet to be fully confirmed. It is known that the Auris will arrive with the comprehensive Toyota Safety Sense Pack. A lane departure warning system and pre-collision safety sensors are expected to be included. In this way, the Auris will easily uphold the five-star Euro NCAP safety rating it earned in 2013.
As with the 2015 Avensis, for the Auris Toyota is expanding and updating the engine range. The new 1.2-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engines are turbocharged for added force and capability. Toyota's hybrid version of the Auris will remain available. Both the steering and suspension on the car have been carefully refined for smoother handling.
