LEXUS HYBRID FAQS

Before you purchase a Lexus Self-Charging Hybrid vehicle, it's important to do your research. Below are a list of our most commonly asked questions, but if you have any further queries, don't hesitate to contact us or visit our showroom in Teesside.

1. HOW DOES THE LEXUS HYBRID WORK?

The Lexus Hybrid Drive system has been providing low running costs and efficient motoring since its introduction back in 2006. Since this time, the technology has been refined significantly. Like most hybrids, the Lexus Hybrid Drive combines two power sources - a petrol-driven combustion engine and a battery powered electric motor.

A Lexus Hybrid Drive model is comprised of six key components: the engine, electric motor, an electric generator, a battery, power control unit, and a power split device. This final component intelligently distributes power between the motor, engine, and generator, and through monitoring driving conditions switches between the electric motor and the petrol engine for the most efficient performance.

2. ARE LEXUS HYBRIDS WORTH IT?

We think so. After all, the innovative technology ensures that you can enjoy efficient and cleaner motoring, meaning that there are less visits to the pumps. What’s more, the Lexus Hybrid Drive technology is among the most advanced on the road, with the regenerative braking helping to charge the battery and thus meaning the electric motor performs more efficiently.

3. HOW LONG DO LEXUS HYBRID BATTERIES LAST?

Lexus Hybrid Drive batteries have been developed to last for the life of the vehicle. However, each new model featuring one of the Lexus Hybrid batteries comes with a five-year battery warranty for added peace of mind.

4. WHAT IS THE LEXUS HYBRID MPG?

Depending on the model you choose - and there is currently a number of models available from Lexus - the fuel economy ranges from 79mpg for the Lexus CT200h CT 200h S E-CVT to 30mpg for the Lexus LS600h LS 600h Auto.

5. WHAT IS THE LEXUS HYBRID PRICE?

As is the case with the mpg, the price of a Lexus Hybrid Drive model is dependent on the vehicle you choose. At the top end of the range, the Lexus LS LS 600h L Premier E-CVT has an on-the-road price of £102,250. For those on a smaller budget, however, you can choose the Lexus CT200h CT 200h S E-CVT for just £21,245.
