Ford have introduced the new Focus Electric 5-door hatchback which can charge from zero to 80 per cent full in just 30 minutes.
The zero-emission electric vehicle offers up to 140 miles on a single battery charge and is just one of 13 new electric vehicles which Ford are launching in the next five years.
Joe Bakaj, Vice President of Product Development for Ford of Europe said “Drivers can recharge our new Ford Focus Electric in the time it takes to stop and enjoy a cup of coffee and a piece of cake.” “With new fast-charging capability and an improved battery, the new Focus Electric is a zero-emission family car with driving range and usability that makes sense in the real world.”
The new Ford Focus Electric is powered by a 145 PS (107 kW) electric motor and a 33.5 kilowatt-hour battery, both of which are liquid-cooled and -heated helping to make the model more energy-efficient.
The 5-door Focus Electric is to be joined by a range of other electric vehicles to be launched by 2022, including an electric SUV, plug-in hybrid Transit van and hybrid version of Ford’s iconic Mustang.
