The Dacia Sandero holds five adults within a compact exterior to make it a practical and agile choice. There are four model types to select so you can take ownership of a car that suits both your budget and motoring needs.
The one-piece grille and headlamp arrangement is a Dacia hallmark which gives the car a modern look. The entry-level and Access versions include tough black bumpers which are replaced by body-coloured alternatives on the Ambiance and range-topping Laureate. Tinted windows are standard-fit, and climbing the range adds sporty alloy wheels as well as front fog lights.
On the inside the Sandero may surprise with the amount of space that is available, as there is enough room for five tall adults. Behind the rear bench is a 320-litre boot which can grow to 1,200 litres by folding the rear bench flat. Every interior surface feels solid to the touch too which suggests the cabin can stand up to everyday family use.
The model’s technology makes driving more convenient and entertaining with a variety of features included across the range. Every Sandero gets a 12-volt accessory socket for charging a smartphone and other devices when mobile plus a ventilation system to leave occupants feeling refreshed. Meanwhile, a gear shift indicator tells you when to change gear to maximise the car’s efficiency. Your own choice of music can be enjoyed through the radio/CD player with USB connection and Aux input which Dacia fit to the Sandero Ambiance and Laureate.
Two of Dacia’s petrol engines and one diesel are your engine choices and each is refined and well-powered. The 90hp dCi diesel releases only 99g/km of CO 2 which means road tax exemption, and with up to 74.3mpg combined possible it also delivers low running costs for life. The petrol engines produce 75hp and 90hp which is sent to the road through a responsive five-speed gearbox.
Vehicle safety is one other major strength for the Sandero as its features list shows. The car’s active technology includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control which helps to prevent a loss of traction by automatically adjusting performance. An Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) also feature to reduce stopping distances and stabilise the Sandero when braking from a high speed.
