Details of the 2017 Yaris revealed at the Geneva Motor Show

The Toyota Yaris is to be part of a €90 million improvement programme as revealed at the Geneva Motor Show.

The popular, small hatchback will undergo a transformation which will see updates made to the car’s style, equipment grades and performance, plus the introduction of a new, highly-efficient 1.5-litre petrol engine.

With significant changes being made to the front and rear styling of the model, over 900 new parts have been introduced in order to improve the car’s design, performance and safety. Toyota’s ED2 design studio based in the South of France have given the Yaris a more active and dynamic look through a new front bumper that creates a ‘catamaran’ shape, new headlight units and a wide, trapezoidal grille. At the rear, new light units alongside a new tailgate add to the sense of extra length in the car’s updated profile.

On the inside the Yaris’ reputation for excellent ergonomics was at the core of the changes and the new upholsteries, colours and trim details ensure this remains unaffected. A new, streamlined multimedia screen and controls in the centre console have been introduced resulting in a system which is easier to use and neater in appearance.
