Dacia's Logan MCV is a practical estate that looks good too. An affordable price tag makes the model an even more attractive prospect for families and anyone else who demands value from their vehicle.
The Logan MCV has a classic, long estate profile which has been given modern features to help it appeal instantly. The headlamps and grille merge together for a sporty expression on the front and from the Access version onwards there are body-coloured bumpers and door mirrors. The same model features roof bars for added practicality while the top-of-the-range Laureate boasts a chrome grille and alloy wheels on top of this.
Beneath the body is a cabin that feels well-made and offers a generous amount of space for passengers and luggage. Every Logan MCV arrives with a split-folding rear bench so you can expand the 573-litre boot to hold 1,518 litres. Opt for the Laureate if you want chrome accents and a leather gear knob for touches of luxury.
The technology included by Dacia aims to enhance your experience on the road without causing a distraction. The gear shift indicator tells you when to change up or down for optimum efficiency and it joins power assisted steering which makes driving the estate effortless. A 12-volt socket has also been included at no extra cost to help you keep devices fully charged when on the move. A radio/CD player with Aux and USB input, Bluetooth connectivity and steering wheel-mounted controls is gained when you order the Ambiance or Laureate versions.
Across the range there are three engines to choose from – one diesel and two petrol. The petrol engines produce 75hp or 90hp and start with an energetic naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre unit. The larger of the two is turbocharged, while the diesel sends 90hp to the front axle and 220Nm of torque from 1,750rpm for responsive acceleration. This powertrain is the most efficient of them all as with careful driving you can achieve up to 74.3mpg combined. Just 99g/km of CO 2 is also released to give you added satisfaction every time you venture out.
Dacia has equipped the Logan MCV with established safety features to give you peace of mind from the start to the finish of any journey. This includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control plus an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). They are complemented by airbags, height adjustable headrests and ISOFIX anchor points to protect occupants in the event of a collision.
